Adapt

“The new phone books are here! The new phone books are here!”

Unlike Steve Martin in The Jerk, we’re not thrilled that the new Yellow Pages arrived in our building lobby.

24 delivered, 1 taken after a week. 96% seem destined for a landfill somewhere.

We’ve said early and often that the YP are obsolete relics, a con job that fleeces money from gullible small businesses. They survive on a sales pitch that’s half fear-mongering (“if you reduce the size of your ad, a plague of locusts will eat your children”) and half self-generated “research” that proves zillions of happy people still use this vestigial medium. Perhaps while wearing Hammer Pants and eating Space Food Sticks.

It graduates from merely stupid to immoral, once you think about that landfill.
